Almost exactly a year to the day since the band had released Thanks To Gravity their sophomore release, Avogadro's Number, hit the stores. Utilizing their EP to gain fans and club gigs throughout the New England region, TTG had grown in that year from a fledgling ensemble to a professional entity with a real reputation and a decent following.
It came as no surprise to friends, fans, and family when TTG announced at the release party for Avogadro's that they had all decided to leave UNH to pursue their musical career with no limits or boundaries. Already the band had outlived many established locals and Avogadro's Number was proof that the band was serious. The album itself was the band's first full length release, clocking in at just over 53 minutes, and featured a very well rounded perspective of the band's diverse songwriting ability. Lyrically, Happel had matured his very unique style and applied it to some more serious subjects than on the previous album. That, coupled with performances that reflected the growth and improved cohesion amongst the band members made Avogadro's an excellent launch pad for the band's professional career.
The release of Avogadro's also proved to be another landmark in the band's career, as it was the first collaborative effort between the band and graphic artist Mike Parnham, who had a unique ability to take the band's visual ideas to a creative level above and beyond what they were able to do on their own. Parnham would prove to be a valuable asset indeed as he would grow with the band and go on to assist and inspire with his own unique abilities.
